Property Trusts

If you own a property with someone and you want to change your ownership from joint tenants to tenants in common, we can assist you with this.

Advising you on the implications of severing your joint tenancy;
Taking your instructions;
Preparing the severance papers;
Assisting you with the severance procedure;
Registering the severance with the Land Registry; and
Sending you copies of the official copy of register of title thereafter.

In most cases, this process takes approximately four weeks from beginning to end, dependant on Land Registry timescales.

Declaration of Trust

If you own a property on trust (either for someone else or for yourself and another) we can assist you with the preparation, execution and registration of a Declaration of Trust.

This will cover the cost of:

Taking your instructions;
Advising you on the implications of the Declaration of Trust;
Preparing a draft Declaration of Trust and sending it for your approval;
Engrossing your Declaration of Trust;
Assisting you with the execution of your Declaration of Trust;
Returning your executed Declaration of Trust to you for safekeeping;
Advising you on the cancellation of your Declaration of Trust, if desired; and
Registering a copy of your executed Declaration of Trust with the Land Registry.
