5.1. Marketing
5.1.1. 5.2. Insurance mediation activity
5.2.1. The Firm is not authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FCA). However, we are included on the Register maintained by the Financial Services Authority (FCA) so that we can carry on insurance mediation activity in the UK, which is broadly the advising on, selling and administration of insurance contracts. This part of our business, including arrangements for complaints or redress if something goes wrong, is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. 5.3. Investment transactions
5.3.1. The Firm is not authorised under the Financial Services Act 2012 but we are able in certain circumstances to offer a limited range of investment services to clients because we are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. We can provide these investment services if they are an incidental part of the professional services we have been engaged to provide. Nothing we say or do should be construed as an invitation or inducement to engage in investment activities, nor as advice on the investment merits of acquiring or disposing of particular investments.

11.5 When you use our online services, we may collect the following:
11.5 (i) Information you provide by completing forms (this includes information you give us when registering for any of our online services, subscribing to our services, submitting material or requesting further services);
11.5 (ii) Information you provide to us if you contact us, for example to report a problem with our online services or raise a query or comment; and

Careers and Recruitment
11.6 If you apply for a job or work placement you may need to provide information about your education, employment, background and state of health. Your application will constitute your express permission to our use of this information to assess your application and to allow us to carry out both recruitment analytics and any monitoring activities which may be required of us under applicable law as an employer.
11.6.1 We may also carry out screening checks (including reference, background, directorship, financial probity, identity, eligibility to work, vocational suitability and criminal and regulatory record checks) and consider you for other positions. We may exchange your personal information with academic institutions, recruiters, screening check providers, health service providers, professional and trade associations, law enforcement agencies, recruitment providers, referees and your current and previous employers. Without your personal information, we may not be able to progress considering you for positions with us.
11.7 We will use your information where it is necessary to fulfil our contractual obligations to you, or because you have asked us to do something before entering into a contract with you (such as provide you with a quotation), or, where it is necessary for us to do so to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation, or where it is necessary to do so because we have, or a third party has, a legitimate interest in doing so (subject to any overriding interests, rights or freedoms of yours).

All partners and staff and third-party providers with access to confidential information are subject to confidentiality obligations.
