Murray Hills choose a local charity to support every year and for 2019 we have chosen
MND Association Bridlington & Scarborough Group;
which is a charity very close to our managing Directors heart.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) describes a fatal rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord; attacking the nerves that control movement so muscles no longer work; it can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breath. It is a devastating disease that affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time, it is a fatal condition, it kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis, it cannot be stopped or reversed, it kills six people every day and there is no cure, yet, but there are ways to make suffers lives better and slightly easier.
The MND Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and campaigning and Murray Hills are hoping to raise our biggest amount yet for the Bridlington & Scarborough Group.
We are fundraising throughout the year and have a collection tin in our reception areas at all three of our branches;
Bridlington, Hull & Beverley for any loose change you may have or donations you can spare throughout the year.
As part of our fundraising we are reviving Tour De King Street and staff will be out again riding their exercise bikes on 4th May 2019.
We are looking for tombola prizes so if you have any new, packaged prizes or unwanted Christmas presents please drop them into our office 10-12 King Street Bridlington (next door to the library), or if you run a business and would like to donate a prize or gift voucher please do get in touch.
We have a Just Giving page for any donations you wish to make big or small it all helps us to raise as much as possible for this amazing charity.
