I hope you know by now but our charity of 2019 is
Motor Neurone Disease Association Scarborough & Bridlington Group
We are doing lots throughout the year to raise as much as we can for this amazing charity, run entirely by volunteers the group covers the Scarborough, Bridlington, Whitby and Rydale areas providing a warm welcome, friendship, information, advice, support and funding for specialist equipment and services to people suffering from MND in or local area.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) describes a condition that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord; it can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breath. It affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time, it is a fatal condition, it kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis, it cannot be stopped or reversed and there is no cure, yet, but there are ways to make suffers lives better and slightly easier.
MNDa released THIS VIDEO which some may find distressing.
Imagine a terrifying rollercoaster ride where ever turn and loop brings you closer to death…around 5,000 people are stuck on this ride right now in England.
